and while I’m gone there is much happening at Quilt in Joy . . . |
Hi Quilters,
Thank you for your support this past year, our daughter is safely in Germany now with her husband and waiting for her sons. The long year of service in Afghanistan is over, but for many others just starting.
The Afghanistan project to create quilts for children is continuing - Liss reports that over 340 quilts have been sent and if you haven’t donated, see the website for details.
These people are very poor and cold in the winter. We’re doing our part to keep them warm and spread some old fashioned goodness.
September 1st you can start dropping the quilts off again at Quilt in Joy.

Amy & I at Ohare (hour layover)
Sincerely,
Kathi Dayon & The QIJ Team

Quilting Hint . . from Sue and Liss: Recycle styrofoam trays (they won’t go anywhere in the landfill) and use them for small pieces while working on a project. You can even stick a pin through the pieces and into the tray to secure them.
